Exhaust brackets & Rubber mounts on diesel campervan

Post by campervankatie »

On replacing my exhaust down pipe on my 1.7 diesel camper, i have found that the down pipe doesnt not meet up with the silencer. I think the silencer needs to move further back to meet the down pipe.
Does anyone know how many rubber mounts are fitted to the silencer? I'm not sure if I need to fit a couple of the rubber mounts to move the silencer into position. The exhaust was welded by a garage on the way to Wales - not parts were available for a couple of days so a local guy patched up the exhaust. I think he has alterted by brackets etc which is why the new one doesnt meet up. If anyone could direct me to photos of the exhaust stystem I would be very grateful
Thanks katie

I slackened everything off and then reassembled. The problem was just me not the exhaust. Now its back for MOT retest, then sort out the rust, the leak, the gutter......
