Poor running on petrol

Post by mark206000 »

Hi,

The van runs on both gas and petrol, well sort of !

When on petrol, it'll go in 1st gear but when you change to 2nd it just looses power and stalls unless you ride it on the clutch, which isn't too good.

Same if you give it a quickish rev, it'll loose power and go back to idle again.

Any ideas ?

Not havin much fun or luck with this old thing, whatever i spend on it it just wants more

:?

Thanks !

Poor running

If it only has the fault when using Petrol I'd suggest changing your petrol filter before anything else, it is situated at the side of the tank on the O/s.

If you find any contamination of crud and or water in the filter it could have made its way to the carburettor which will need to be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned out.
