black smoke;
went to look at 1990 autosleeper pop top the other day. has 1600td and is five speed. a bit of black smoke on start up, which dissappeared, was going in same direction as he left, and noticed the odd puff of black smoke, probabley as he was changing gear. should i beware.
if a turbo engine doesn't black smoke before the turbo catches up theres something wrong with it
on very modern stuff the fueling is more precise but on the old stuff they all slightly over fuel until the turbo speeds up and builds up air pressure
