It's to do with the clutch (JX syncro).
Should the clutch release lever be horizontal when at 'rest' ie before putting your foot on the pedal? That's the first question.
The second relates to the clutch release bearing; at the 'rest' position should the bearing be in contact with the pressure plate springs, ie is it always turning?

Roughly horizontal, depneds on clutch wearm as clutch wears it gets closer to slave cylinder. Realease bearing is always in contact with pressure plate.
