Carb pierburg

I have a 1.9 with pierburg carb would replacing with weber converstion cure the problem with over choking and bad petrol smell in cold weather or better to go lpg have replaced pull down any advice thanks Mal

I take it youv'e seperated the top and bottom halves of the carb and got in there with carb cleaner in all the fiddly bits? Usually gives an improvement. It's also worth a carb recon kit from Gower and Lee or similar. Have fun.
