injection question

Post by hunepromo »

I have a 2.1i T25 1990 panel van. when I changed the fuel pump a few months, I had to take the neg lead off the fuel pump which then depressuries the fuel pump, which means the engine will not start.

so I was thinking of taking off the neg lead and extending to to the front cab to a swtich and then back to the fuel pump. so the switch will in theory turn the fuel pump on & off. Will this damage the pump or anything else on my van?!?!?!?!?!? If I can which size wire and what rating of switch would I need?!?!?

I'd be looking at 1mm sq wire and a 5A rated switch.
However I'd worry about the volt drop on the 15 foot is cable run.

Better to put a relay in the engine bay and run the (relay)coil connections forward.
