Off road locations?

Post by jokerman »

Hi,

I recently got a Syncro (singlecab) and am keen to go off road in it for the first time. (taxed + MOT this week!)

I was wondering are there any locations in the West Midlands or Shropshire where I can take it for some fun?

I'd like to make it clear I'm a complete novice at this so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I could also do with some expert eyes to have a quick look at my van and give me he thumbs up or down. Are there any meetings happening?

Thanks everyone. :D

Hiya,

Where abouts in Shropshire are you? Theres now 2 Syncros I know of in Oswestry (Mine being one!). I'm not so good on the 4wd but if you want the chassis/body looking at I've had a few "rotters" so I've a fair idea on where to look for tinworm and what to do about it.

Not sure on off road locations, perhaps someone else will come along and tell us both where to go  .

I know the Syncronauts have a meet out at Llanfyllin in the summer, not sure where they play.

We usually run an event near Stourport around April 1st, and the focus of that has become novice off-road /newbie syncro induction to the vehicle and driving them off-road, in the last couple few years.

As we have been there so often now, the Syncronauts Committee have decided not to go there this Spring, but keep your eyes peeled here for a Spring 'site' event elsewhwere (possibly in the same didtrict)...

Hi Jokerman (James) good to talk to you this morning, You really must go out with the lunatics from here to get an idea of your Syncros potential. It will astound you. Coney Green was a really good site but as Harryman says its been done to death by Syncronauts. but it is still open to pay and play I think 1st sunday every month for about £15-20

PS get some MS tyres if you can. Even if they are only good for off road, 15" merc steel wheels will do well.
