LHD to RHD conversion
Hi all
As above, anyone converted a syncro from LHD to RHD?
What work would be involved ?
Would the wiring loom need to be replaced or could it just be moved ?
thanks

thanks for the replies
nothin against lefthanders at all just wondering whether I should buy a shiny lefthooker and convert or do up a battered rhd. Have the opportunity to buy an 86 crewcab which is very tired and trying to consider the work involved in either project. Done plenty of resto's but not a conversion.
Incidently, anyone care to give a (ball park) price for buying said knackered crewcab with cooked td engine.
cheers guys

If well knackered all round more like £1000, but... is it really knackered?

yep! knackered as a knackered thing. Dents in every panel inc roof. Worked in forestry commision for best part of its life. front tyres well worn so no wheel rotation get an idea transmission could be a bit "shaky" but is complete.
By the way can anyone beat my uber low milage syncro... 43k genuine miles....rushes off to shine medals.

No, that IS very low mileage, probably get first prize, unless speedo drive broken

ive done a left to right conversion, i would only reccomend it to those who are not only crazy enough but are very VERY skilled in metal crafts, the re-fabrication is quite something.
a whole front cut maybe the go?? cut the windscreen pillars then across the footsteps and replace the whole lower front end.

HarryMann- speedo not broken, sat in a garage for 18yrs before I got my grubby mitts on it. Everything still tight as you would expect. I ve had it since 03 and only put 3.5k on it. Spends most the time gathering dust in a mates barn.
VWJon- Not as simple as I may of thought, cheers for the info. Noticed you were crazy enough though. What bit of Oz you in ? My old fella's just retired to Bribie Island
