twin carbs on a DG engine

Post by dink »

i have a DG code engine in my T3, the pierberg carb is not so good, it leaks
i have been offered a pair of carbs from an Aircooled 2LTR engine
i was thinking would the fit if i used type 3 manifolds
is it possible to make them run OK on my engine

i also have most of an EFI system from a 2LTR bay
could that me be made to work on my engine with either 2.1 manifolds and plenum, or bits taken from a type 3

the kit off a 2.1 could be made to fit but you will obviously need all the t3 fi kit.
i doubt if the twin solex would fit off a Aircooled t4 motor. i think the manifolds and heads are completly different.
speak to steve s as he was developing a twin carb kit for the wasserboxers.

Type 1 heads and Type 4 heads both have a different port arrangement to the WBX. If you want to put twin carbs on one, you'd have to get manifolds from CSP

and fit IDFs or DRLAs. The bay injection would be a faff in my opinion - why not just fit a full DJ set up from an injected T3?
