Today I took the leap of faith and booked the van in at gasure to get it converted . I cant wait Steve is going to rebuild the carbs at the same time . I must say if anyone is thinking of getting this done he was very helpful and didn't snigger at any of my stupid questions . The process was very easy and I feel a lot happier now I have a better understanding of what is involved in the process.
Is the conversion as good as people tell me on a 2lt air cooled can you tell the difference when running on gas
Just booked the van it at gasure

thanks Ian /Kev
Kev I notice you recommended a spray shop could you pass me on the details . I was going to do it myself but just cant afford to tie up the workshop for the time its going to take. I always admire the Finnish of your van so would like to take it to the same place . Once I'm gassed I wont have to sell the dog for fuel any more. It was a good wheeze because he always found his way home after a few days
I have been busy hitting it with the lowering stick and sorting the suspension and steering just about every bush and joint has been changed .
Bought the sticky stuff you recommended for the cabinets and it looks like new again .
And yes I've stopped fretting for the moment
Hope to see you in the new year

Hi
Had my 2l Aircooled done by steve too
you will notice a difference in power but its marginal, you will also notice a BIG difference in what you dont have to spend
Im really happy with my conversion, I have the 60L spare wheel style tank in the westy wardrobe and I get about 165-180 miles from it for £24 (used to be £19-20 before the gov messed with it)
I also drive foot to floor and can do 65 with no probs
