2.1 DJ Caravelle, Autobox.
No high top or pop top.
Had a 200 mile round trip to lake district this Wend.
Felt that the suposedly 'New' (Not recon) engine was a bit down on power.
No problem until steep grades then I was down to 50mph.
I'm sure my last bus (Not auto ) had more grunt.
Felt it was a bit thirsty too (220mile / 40 litres)
I've noticed a lot of tappet noise when cold and wonder if this could be linked.
I know the tappets are hydraulic but might the initial setting be out?

Low Power?
How many miles have you done on your new engine?
Low power might just be down to the newness, if it's only done a few miles, give it a chance to loosen off, the performance will pick up once the tightness has dissapeared.

Thanks people.
I'll get round to looking at it soon.
My life seems to be fully booked at the moment.
Its Panto season (Oh no it isnt) {sound and lighting a speciality} and I'd rather be going away at weekends than groveling in the engine bay.
