2.1 DJ Syncro Temp sender 2 VW part no required
Hi,
I think I've got a dodgy temp 2 sender on the thermostat. The engine is sometimes hard to start from cold. And also sometimes when it does start - the idle is very fast, but returns to normal once warmed up.... from the research I've done - all fingers seem to point at replacing the temp 2 sender.
I've got a metal Thermo Housing from a 86 DJ Syncro. It hasn't got the retaining clips to hold the 2 pin sender in that ETOS shows, rather it's a screw in type. I think this is Syncro specific?
The only part no I can find is 025 906 041 A - but this looks like it uses spring clips
Does anyone have the correct part number so I can order one.....or has anyone got a new one on the shelf that they'd want to sell?
cheers,
Rich

Thanks for that part number. crikey approx £30!! but as you say - vital.
hmmm - I'm not sure how to tell if it's feckled Aidan?
Everything was fine until it refused to start last weekend from cold for a good 5 mins, now it's a bit tempermental at starting, and also idles fast until it's warmed up. Once it's warmed up it drives superbly. very responsoce etc.
I've cleaned all the contacts etc.

looks like it was the connection at temp sender .
I got the multimeter out and pins 2 and 7 at the unplugged multiconnectorshowed no resistence, whereas temp sender 1 did. I unplugged the TS2 connector and did get a reading, (approx the same as TS1 - as the engine was cold). Plugged it back in - and hey presto pins 2 and 7 at the multiconnector now have a resistence.
thanks once again guys.
