What's the second temp sender for?

Big lumps of metals and spanners.

What's the second temp sender for?

Post by morzov »

There appears to be 2 temp senders on my van (1.9 petrol). I've sussed that the one at the 12 0 clock position under the thermostat is the one that feeds the temp gauge and have now changed it -well i will when it stops raining!(incidentally VAG wanted around £26 for one of these as against £5 from GSF).

But there appears to be another sender at 9 o'clock which has a blue plug. I've an idea this has somethng to do with the mixture?

Thing is what does it do and can you test it and is it even worth doing that?

depending on if your van is a injection(dh) or a carb(dg) it will either be the carb heater and choke control, or the choke effect for the injection.....

I always thought that a DF engine was roughly the same as a DG but with less BHP. The oracle according to Dr.Haynes refers to the DF engine having a ''34 PICT carburettor''.

Coolant systems parts are always recommended to be purchased from VW.

Don't wish to argue Bob old bean but the GSF late metal water pipe IS OEM VW, and stamped as such. We have to remember VW didn't make everything for their vehicles
