.. and Caravelle's and Campers of course, are usually considered more 'precious' than panel vans and pickups if you're thinking of serious off-roading (DH excepted, as always). They have windows to break for one, though arguably they are replaceable more readily than a large well bent panel.

The ideal Terry, is a twin cab I would have thought, as you have no need of the long load bed of a single-cab? A good tent and all your gear will fit in the locker or under the rear seats.

I think crewcabs are infinately more useful, but would you be allowed to park one outside your palace Terry?

Single and Double Cabs can turn earlier amongst overhanging branches

Pah. You worry too much about overhanging branches. They'd have to be some VERY big braches to stop you turning, unless you were some sort of pussy.....

The tighest lane I've ever been down was in Devon and my bus has light scarring to prove it, but you would have had the same wounds inflicted on a single or doublecab..... there's just less gutter to bend.

118bhp of snarling death, minus associated transmission losses = rather less snarling death than one might have hoped for initially. Ah well. It will be good to see the GLS back on the road.
