gearchange squeak

Post by hunter70 »

Hi
My gearchange in my T3 A/C yesterday has developed a queak in for and aft movement, the gears are sweet and there`s no slop , it has been converted before I bought it with what looks like the nylon replacement kit show in wiki , I`ve oiled all the joints , including over the tank and at the rear on the gearbox , as I said all the gears including reverse are sweet but it sounds like that long gear rod is rubbing on something dry on the way when changing , it`s a 4 speed.
Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated.

I had this problem. There's a nylon bushing in there which is more than likely whats causing it. Lift up the boot at the base of the gearshift and spray in a load of lithium grease. It sorted mine out.

Thanks for that , Airhead but I`ve already greased and oiled every joint also under the gearlever boot , I think there`s something rubbing causing a dry metalic squeak .
I`ll have to keep looking.
