Just had a thought?
Do i have to re-register my van now its got a different engine in it so the documents say 1.9td rather than 1.6td?
If so, how to go about it?

enter new details/engine number onto V5 and post it to dvla . they will issue a new V5 with ammended details . seeing as the AAZ is visually identical to the JX *some* people have been known not to change details so as not to have a whole heap o problems with insurance company/premiums.
i guess worst scenario is that a particularly anal insuarance company would know a 1.9 was never fitted to a T3 , class it as a major modification and request an engineers report , yours sure is a nice 1.6 v-lux

If its anything like my experience you will have to send it back to DVLA about 3 times before they get the details right (I think they got both the new capacity and the engine number wrong the first time and randomly changed the colour the second!).
Why does the not quite finished job before last always conspire with the not quite started job after next to make what you should be doing now harder?

hmmm, right ho.
As it happens ive already informed Adrian flux that its a 1.9. They had no problem with it whatsoever, didnt even want any more money for the trouble.
The only reason this came to mind was that its just gone in for MOT, and i was wondering if the emmissions test might be affected by the fact that it now has a larger capacity than is listed in the V5.
We'll see, i should know if its passed or not by later on this afternoon.....eeek

But got loads of hassle of the MOT man on MOT day.....coz I did not tell DVLA...came up as petrol on the MOT computer, he started moaning coz he has frig around and tell the computer he was doing a diesel test on on a petrol vehcile.......it all got a bit tricky....then he spoted my straight through exhaust......but thats another story.......

I didnt bother telling the mot guy, seems they didnt notice
Or if they did they weren't bothered, so i'll just change it on the V5 soon i guess.
Passed the emissions test too which i'm happy about! Failed on a few other little things though, but nothing too hard to sort out.
Back on the road sooon......
