Water pipes?
Ok, I am as most will know I am a bit green with this Syncro lark & all sorts of dumb questions will arrise.
Here's one: I was under the van earlier & noticed 2 large water pipes are disconnected. The go in & out of the gearbox bell housing. It seemed strange there would be pipe there at all.
Anyone know what they are & if they are needed? Engine is a 1.6TD, van is 1989.

Interesting....
This has just made me realise that i'm missing one of these pipes.
Ive got the lower one that attaches to the side of the bell housing, but im missing the one that goes on the timing inspection hole.
I thought it wasnt supposed to be open, so bodged up a cover for it a while back. But im wondering whether this might mean that the clutch isnt getting breathing enough?
Anyone got a spare pipe kicking about? Or is it really of little concern?

Mines the same, I wonder if yorkshire water didn't bother with the pipes or whoever fixed the vans removed them (I'm guessing your van is a yorks water van?)? Hope they didn't have any deep leaks to drive through!
