Brake warning light

Post by airhead »

My brake warning light isnt working. It never has in fact. I may as well get it sorted though. There's no power going to the switch in the res cap and the bulb is fine. Where should I be looking? The fuse is fine too by the way. Its a 1992 T3 Syncro.

No the handbrake warning doesn't come on either. I must get behind the fuseboard and check things out in detail. Its probably something really stupid but its something Id like to get working. I may as well, given that its there!

I retraced the wiring from the light and found the live feed was disconnected from the fuseboard. I plugged it back in and nothing. Checked again, and it was definitely the live and there was power where I connected it. Checked the bulb, and it was gone. Replaced that with a spare I had and wayhey! It finally woks. Never worked since I got the van. Anyway, next question... How do I adjust the handbrake switch? I have to pull the thing out of the floor to get the light to come on.
