New 'v' old locks

Post by The_blue »

I've picked up a new back door for my early bus. It came with no locks or guts.

What can i salvage from my old door? Am i right thinking the guts are the same apart from the lock its self?

Locks

The early locks don't fit the later tailgate.
The hole is larger.
Providing the hole is the right size it is just a matter of changing the locks over - held in by 3 Allen screws.

I recently got a new lock & key for my tailgate from here: http://www.vwbusparts.freeserve.co.uk/ Yes, make sure you require a lock for either early T25 tailgate (smaller hole) or later T25 tailgate (larger hole) before ordering :) Obviously any T25 tailgate will fit any T25 vehicle.
