Solex carb rebuilds

Post by edmundator »

2.0 Aircooled.

I think my carbs need a good rebuild. I might be able to do this myself if there is a kit, but I think I'd prefer to spend the money getting someone who really knows what they're doing to sort them out for me. At the moment I'm getting really crap MPG (measured as reliably as I can at around 16mpg, doing a steady 60-65mph) and I've replaced plugs, leads, vacuum pipes, fuel pipes, and I just had to fit an electric fuel pump which hasn't really made any difference either.

Can anyone recommend somewhere that will recondition my carbs?

I want to keep it standard, so the other option is new carbs, if they're available. Are they? If so, where?
