Viton injection pump seal replacement diy question

I have a 1.6td jr golf engine in my transporter and as a precution against running on veg oil i want to replace the injection fuel pump seals for viton ones which are bio resistant.Ive seen on a VW bio fuel forum that gave a discription for a 1.9tdi viton seal replacement it looks tricky.Can any one tell me if its a job that could be done one self and would there be special tools needed to work on the pump.
