which engine and what bits?

Post by elastic mike »

now that I've done my first t3 engine conversion I've got the bug!!

I'm looking at buying an engine and gear box and stripping and rebuilding them both. Fabricating it ready to go in the van over time, I'd like a 2.0 16v petrol. I will be converting the engine to bike carbs and scrapping the injection and ecu. I'd rather get an engine wich a t25 bell housing will fit, making the gear box issue a lot easier. Some one mentioned to me that the 5 speed petrol had the best ratios for higher speed, is there any after market parts available to alter ratios and improve gear box strength?
any info would be greatly appreciated.
cheers.

Unless you have the specialist tools a gearbox rebiuld isnt possible at home... Aidan Talbot is the only person I trust for a rebiuld and he can advise on ratios, if you know what you are looking for... and has alternative stronger ratios..
