Front diff needed...

Post by Macflai »

Well,

A friend who owns an original VW Multivan Westfalia Syncro 16" 2.1DJ, (probably the only one here in the Canaries), needs a front diff, better if it 's a 2nd hand unit... Dunno how it's original unit is almost broken...

Please tell me something if you have one to sell, to check it out how much costs to import it here...

TIA

Really I don't know, diff has been dismantled in a workshop... My friend phoned me to ask for a second hand one... He told me something about the pinions inside...

Well today I was talking to my friend about the problem, it seems broken parts are pinion and ring... it is a Syncro 16" 2.1 DJ.

Code is AHU... dunno if it is 38/7 or 34/7...

What do you think? Any price?

Did a quick check on Brickyard info and find no AHU syncro box listed. 16" codes are AND & AVU .. both are 6.17:1 which is 43/7 .

38/7 = 5.43:1
34/7 = 4.85:1

I'm no transmission or syncro specialist, so really don't know. Here's link to gearbox codes: http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpec ... fo/gbx.htm

OK!!

Now i know more!! it's 38/7, he needs pinion and ring and also bearings (i think there are 4 bearings...) and the diff lock couplers (kit of 2 pieces).

Please any info about prices or anyone who sells that would be really appreciated. You can also PM me...
