does the manual one work? the usual reason for an electric one is the mechanical one has packed in....

If you need to buy a new mechanical fuel pump then that will cost you about £40 from GSF or £45 from Jk. Prices are for a Pierburg Mechanical Fuel Pump (O.E.M.) & include VAT. :)

thanks for that -

the inlet/outlet pipes on the old disused pump are directly on top of each other -
on the gsf one - they areset apart slightly - facing slightly different ways - can that make a difference -
will try and put on tommorrow -
previous owner 'upgraded' to electric fuel pump - not sure why -

I bought a Pierburg fuel pump from GSF about six weeks ago & iirc the inlet pipe is directly above the outlet. This pump is from the OEM & should therefore be identical to your old pump. If you go to GSF don't forget to ask for 10% club 80-90 discount. Take proof of membership ie. print off the details you got from Mocki when you joined the club. You may not always get the discount, it sometimes depends on the mood of the person on the counter.

thanks for all the useful tips -
all went well - engine sounding solid - nice tick over -
received the 10% discount message too late for this time - will try next time - my local gsf all hunched shoulders and unsmiling 'lets get on with it - i'm busy' faces - but will wave my membership print out anyway! :)
