Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal

Post by Ian Hulley »

Just for info .... (perhaps worthy of a Mod. putting it on the WIKI ?) I've just replaced the rear crankshaft oil seal on our 2.1 project engine, I assume it's the same for DF,DG & DJ.

I don't know what the VW part number is BUT it's really a 75 x 95 x 10 R23 Oil Seal, available from most Bearing & Transmission suppliers.

BTW it cost me £6.05 including the dreaded vat, wonder how much/how long from VW ?

 Yes, I get trade too Andy  The £6 posted was the retail price that anyone can get one for.

This was intended more for the sizes and potential non-VW stockist for that last-minute discovery than a price check.
