gearbox swap

Post by NewarkNutter »

Is the 091 bay gearbox essentially the same as an early air-cooled t25. i.e. can one be fitted to the t25. I understand that the front mounting is going to be different but if the box is the same then this can surly be swapped from the old unit. The 091 unit in question is from a bay with a 2L air cooled so I don't see there being a problem at that end of the gearbox. Maybe linkages are different?

Any info gratefully received.

Er.. I might be wrong but the gearshift on a bay box, goes in the front, not on the side like a T25 box...
