So, while seeing if I could get some adjustable front longer dampers made with AVO, I sent them a trial damper.
As it happends, they couldn't make the spring seat big enough to suit a standard, or 2WD spring, they rallied around a few of their damper making friends, and they couldn't do it either.
What they did say is that they could make a coil over damper with a 2 1/4 spring, height adjustable.
They have the dimensions already.
What this post is about is just to say if this is of any interest to anyone then let me know as i can put this into action.
The coil over wouldn't give you as much articulation but it would give to adjustable ride height through adjusting the spring seat via C spanners, it would also give you a adjustable damping rate.
The great thing about 2 1/4 springs is that there is a load of choice of poundages and they are dirt cheap.
The dampers would come in at about £90 each, the springs at £15 each!!
£210 plus VAT for adjustable front springs and dampers!!
While Im on, I can still get, made to order (and i just ordered some more today) Adjustable rear dampers in 2" over stock, so all you boys going for the tried and tested 2WD front springs and spacers on the rear springs for liftykins can now have dampers that you can set nice and soft for off road and dead hard for driving like a clown that don't top out.
It's recommended that you also fit longer travel CV joints to go with this combo.
This is as high as you can go without going silly chopping your rear arms to clear the driveshafts.
Obviously I can also supply these too.
I would say that this damper woule be more use for people wanting to go down rather thean up so I appreciate it does have limted appeal.
