side loading door question

hello, the side loading door on the van will open from the outside IT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE, any idea's....?

undo the screw that holds the inside handle on m8 and see if the square has rounded off?
if so you just need a new handle,,,,, if not you'll have to "simply shout thru the window and ask fellow campers to let you out"
or do a beetles style "love in" for the duration of your camp and we'll chuck food in thru the windows?
seriously tho m8 it can't be much,,, worst case will be a new door catch assembly.

It may just be that the child safety catch is engaged. This stops the door from being opened from the inside, by a child (or a drunk). Check for the little slider lever on the front inner edge of the door.

child latch not fitted on all vans , but i have seen more fitted to panel vans for some reason

cheers guy, the van does have a latch but when it is down the van will not open from outside or in. the handle inside can go from North to South without doin anything i suspect, it may be the mechanism, any idea where i will get one from, i av tried Volkswagen commercial at Trafford Park but no joy..
