haven't moved it in two days and was working perfectly when parked (daily driver). Today, plenty of power, starter spinning properly. No ignition. Wierd buzzing from dash.
Any thoughts?

Thats perplexing, if you left her running two days ago, and now doesnt start. I would switch the ignition on and go and feel the idle control stabiliser. It should be buzzing. if it is then you are getting electical power to the systems. it is the cylindrical metal thing with a wire outta one end and a black tube outta the other which goes towards the air flow meter and air box.
Listen to the fuel pump, it should come on for about 2 or 3 seconds when you switch on the ignition. It powers up to get pressure in the fuel line for starting. If you cant hear it, the engine wont start. There is a relay for it in one of the black boxes, the small one nearer the coil ( ithink).
If you are getting both of the above, she sould fire up. Also check that the temp sender connector hasnt fallen off, wont start easily if it has. Its on the side of the thermostat housing on the left rear of engine. Blue two wire plug generally.
If still no joy, after a few seconds cranking pull out a spark plug and smell it. If it's petroly then its an ignition fault. If its bone dry, then a fuel injection prob.
Hope this helps.

If you undo one of the high pressure feeds to the injectors, block one side and leave the pipe hanging free, get someone to turn the ignition on and measure the quantity or rather observe the quantity of fuel coming out, should be a good flow.
Easy tart might get it going if sprayed through the hole left by removing the air filter box into the air flow meter whilst cranking hard. Would also show that she is sparking if she does fire up. If the Ecu doesnt think its sparking, then the injectors wont fire, so might not be as simple as I stated above.
This is most likley a connection somewhere has come adrift, and the injectors are not firing.
Push it a half mile down the road and call the AA!!
These injection systems are very earth sensitive, I have run several extra earths to the engine block and the alternator. they are also very sensitive to bad connections and frayed wires, worth checking all the connections. especially the spagetti around the idle and hall senders.

Thanks for all this.
Before I read your last reply, went out and had another really good look and found a wire, low on the left going underneath the head that had been touching the case and had burned through and must have been earthing. I wrapped it with tape and with a bit of persuasion it fired up. Running like an absolute bag of "pooh" though. Idle starts to drop out after about 3 mins of smooth running.

At least she's running. Worth going through all the other wires, disconecting all the blocks and making sure they are all clean. A lot of the sensors work on resistance, and rust and corrosion will make the ecu think that strange things are happening.
