Watercooling for an Aircooled van

Post by wackos00 »

My 2l Aircooled engine has packed up, so a scooby engin is going in. Now i know all the parts I need, what i am wondering is, do i need to put in a stock radiator grill? ie do i need to access the radiator via that grill for either assembly or maintanance ect? or could I do a custom job on the front and put some holes in the body work with mesh behind or something similar?
cheers,
Jack

behind the upper grill you need to be able to access the bleed screw on the top of the rad.. (top left looking at the front of the vehicle) lower right side of rad is the rad fan switch.. if you can get to it from below, then fine, but will be a tight squeeze IIRC
