Hook up power on a PEM unit

Post by minke »

Hi Guys & gals,
I have in my late 1990 van a unit called a PEM, very similar to a ZIG unit.

Wired up a cable from house to external plug in on van (all wiring as should be in relation to correct wiring.

When I plug it in the van and throw master breaker. The red light comes on :? . In the booklet it states..If red light comes on reverse the polarity. I would like to know (where do i reverse it?) in the external plug from the mains?, in the van if so where in the van...???. It states that no damage will occur if polarity is wrong, it just dont work...

It also states that if plugging in an external generator the red light will flicker on & off, so dont worry, as generators have this effect...so more confusion...

So any ideas on which wires i should muck around with??

A break in the neutral wire will also cause the reverse polarity light to come on. Suspect this if nothing works from the 240v socket in the van.
First thing to check is the connections in the plugs on your hook-up lead.
