my tdi 1z is over revving constantly. undriveable help!!!!!!
Hi
my t25 has a 1993 audi 80 tdi 1Z. I had the engine put in by what i thought was a professional. I got 70 miles down the road after picking it up from conversion and the engine started over revving uncontrollably. I thought the turbo had blown so i had it recon'd but after fitting it back on the engine still revs uncontrollably any ideas please?????????

Why does it have a resistor? or do you mean potentiometer?
I have seen some really, really gash TDI instals, and AAZ instals come to think of it, Infact, I would say most are gash.
It depends who did it, I have seen all sorts of "special" wiring, badly placed intercoolers, wires draped left right and centre, throttle pots on the bulkhead in the engine bay and "special" brackets.
If it was a "proffesional" you should have some recourse and some warranty.
or if it was some bloke on his drive and a big bag of scotch locks and a welder.....
