Roofrack and awning

Post by Mariner Man »

Does anyone use, or know if the JK T25 roofrack can be used with the bar and clamp method of ataching awning, or will you have to remove the rack each time.

Hi
We have a full length roofrack on our van, not sure what make it is but it clamps onto the gutter at 4 points on each side.

Didn't enter my head it might be tricky fastening on our new awning until we got to Cornwall!

After a bit of messing around we sorted it by using lengths of pole that fit between the roofrack mounts. It's not perfect but worked well enough.

If you're not too worried about a bit of water, the other option we most often use is 3 big spring clamps and fasten the full length pole onto the side of the roofrack. It doesn't leak too badly, the guttering takes all but the worst rain away, and it does give a bit of extra air and ventilation in the awning.

Hope this is some help and makes a bit of sense!

Cheers
