Carb rebuild kit

Post by tw3ak »

Hi guys, decided it's time to get the van on the road again ( perfect for winter 8) ) and i'm about to rebuild the carb - thats the reason it packed up in the first place.

Its a pierberg 2E3, and i'm just wondering which kit(s) I need to get from GSF?

18151, CARBURETTOR REPAIR KIT, General Use (Fits All 2E3 Carburettors), £ 6.25
18211, CARBURETTOR FLOAT KIT, General Use (Fits All 2E Carburettors), £21.50

Whats the difference between the repair kit and the float kit? I'd rather rebuild as much as possible with new parts, just so I know i've not missed anything out.

Thanks guys and gals, Chris.

why not get both, £6 quids worth it just to find out.. Or ring em and ask if the 6 quid stuff is in the 20 odd quid kit..
the float" kit prob has a new float in it and poss a few other bits.. but It may not have the accel pump diaphragm and the other one... these come witht he alloy housings that hold them on as far as I can tell...

No point spending money on buying the same thing twice though!

Was just enquiring to see if anyone had purchased them really, phoning from work can be a pain. I've asked hembo to forward on that mail he recieved so thanks for that!

No, but if you have to take the carb apart for cleaning and the main gasket splits (which it invariably does) you will need to buy another in any case.... 6 quid isnt a lot of money to be able to tomplete a task that might happen on a fri eve....
