Gutter Trim /Awning problems
This is for anyone who uses any sort of awning which secures to your van with the aid of the figure of 8 awning strips which are gererally supplied with such an awning.....
I have always had difficulty fitting this strip to our van during 'Erection' of our awning,,,,,,,BUT I have always been confident in knowing it isn't going to come away from the van for any reason other than pulling it off by hand.
Then just recently I was a bit pisssed off during the erection process and found I managed to pull a section of the gutter trim off of the van which led to the figure 8 strip jumping off the gutter at any hint of movement by wind or blustery conditions.......
I did notice that the gutter lip on the post 83 vans was made shorter for some reason,,,,,,,,I know this as I never had any trouble with our early Aircooled van circa 1980.........
Have you ever had similar problems,,,,,,,,,,?
Regards
Fritz,,,,,,,

The gutters on early vans are different aren't they.? More like gutters on Bays?sukhoi27 wrote:i think you would shaun.....
do you need the trim on the gutter for it to work?
My early gutter is L shaped whereas late gutters are straight. I bet that was to help with roof racks and it would hold an 8 strip without the need for welded on gutter trims?

Gutter Trim /Awning problems
We have one of these awnings http://www.campershop.co.uk/awnings/tra ... veller.htm
All i do is drive along side and then offer up the figure of 8 with awning already slid in and hook on. The weight of the awning tunnel, pulls it downwards to secure.
Our T25 is a 1981 Viking Model.
The awning is very good value for money and also has an inner tent for when the kids are making too much noise up top !!
