More questions on hightop samper electrics

Post by Twodogs »

I have read with interest the trails regarding leisure battery wiring and power to the fridge.

I have 2 x leisure batteries !! [ 1 behind each front seat ] and the main battery in the engine bay !

I'm not sure if I have a ZIG unit or a ZIM unit - is there an easy way to checK?

How do I know if the two leisure batteries are charged off the alternator or from the mains hook up.

They currently don't hold enough charge to power the fridge, but I don't know if this is because of an issue in the relay from the alternator, or if I should be looking somewhere else.

Any ideas greatly appreciated ! :?
I know I left it here some where

Is it a homebrew or coachbuilt camper?
The fridges only run on 12v with the engine running.
It's nothing a great deal of time and money can't fix

the easiest way to find all of that out is to get along to camping meet and i'm sure someone will be able to help you work it all out!

the fridge shouldnt run off the leisure battery(ies) at all, ots supposed to run off the van battery, only when the engine is running...... if it ran off the leisure battery, even when the engine was running only it would prevent the leisure battery AND the main battery from getting full charge, and wouldnt get coolio enough

like dave says, bring it along to a meet..........
