useful thing to carry round with you...
Hi, a useful thing to carry round with you, when camping in particular, is another VW jack to help get things levelled up just right (and a couple of small bits of plywood to put under them)

Has anyone got more of a heads up on that kit from Costco? I saw it and just thought it'd be like all the crap you get from the markets tho the chest did look quite good (fnarr fnarr!). Plus i thought being black was a gimmick. That aside it was quite a good size and were it not crap it might be worth a look.

You are mistaken my friend, Costco does not sell junk.
Those were superb tools, and that finish on them probably more expensive and durable than chrome. I was sorely tempted, and was dragged away kicking and screaming
Could be wrong, but that was my 'take' at the time - in fact, the display set had barely half a dozen tools left in it, maybe only ones put out by Costco, but assumed at the time the rest had been pocketed - why pocket crap tools?
Can you remember the exact price?
Anyone want a Bosch battery, you probably wouldn't get one cheaper than Costco, that's all they sell - Bosch... even the Kirkland stuff they sell, their own brand, is good. The AA and AAA battery packs f'rinstance, and people will kill for a Kirkland tee shirt, the round necks don't 'sag'
Bought a 3 ton jack + two 3 ton axle stands, not absolutely top notch product, but heavy and strong (struggle to lift it up) - £55 + VAT. Not complaining!
Might even creep back soon when someone isn't watching,

That is good value too, very good, they were about £50 when they first brough them out - only complaint is that the roll-pin controlling the flex head could be a bit stiffer, they flex sometimes when you don't want them to, perhaps the latest ones lock into position positively, owise, a godsend at that price.
You could do worse than get a set of those Kathy, think they go up to 17 or 19 mm - perfikt.

Have you lot got Costco cards then? I am a sole trader (property maintenance) so will join at the Bristol branch one day.
Yup, think its a bout £20 a year and we can have nominated friends/family on there too at £16 each a shot - just fill out a form and write an introuductory letter. That £20 can be recouped with one purchase (we got 4 michelins for the Micra fitted, balanced etc. for £45 once, both Costoco and Mich doing a deal on the same day, a fluke but what a deal!)
Be warned that most people say that you never get out without spending £150 ~ £175 - it's just the way it is - you go there to but something and usually buy other things as well - the food is excellent too, butcher it themselves . Good for party's but overall you have to disciplined and not get carried away -
Nope, Mudlark might have if theres one in Bristol...Anybody heard of or used "Stax" trade centres? There is one in Bristol too.

Good for party food too but overall you have to disciplined and not get carried away... I honestly can't say I've seen any junk there as such, they have a reputation to keep up, and that's not their market, they might stock only one brand of something, but for that brand and that product you probably won't get it elsewhere cheaper, so if that is what you want, buy it there! Bosch batteries and Michelin tyres are good examples.

Duck tape is a brand, Clive, so it's either duct tape, or Duck Tape.
Although it's blatantly duck tape in this case:
