Looks like an in line water filter, I have a blue whale one a smiler shape.
It's nothing a great deal of time and money can't fix

Maybe it is a "one way" thing... something like this...

I suppose it could be a one way valve to stop the water emptying out of the pipe, but mine was at the outlet next to the water tank under the van.
I replaced the unit I had because it had snapped, no idea what it does I just went into my local caravan shop and said I need a new one of these :shock:
It's nothing a great deal of time and money can't fix

Looks like an in-line trap - stops smells coming back from the waste water system.
In campers, sometimes, they can make the sink slow to drain.

Yeeeh!!! The water gets a long time to dissapear from the sink... maybe it's need a replace or maybe just clean?
