Golf steering wheel

Post by paulw »

got a Golf steering wheel from a trader at the VW fest leeds, was only a fiver but its quite a nice wheel. Was told it would fit a T25 but the splined shaft on my 86 T25 is smaller that the hole in the wheel. Is there a spacer type thing to adapt this wheel and do i have to change the horn ring etc..
Thanks

You should be able to get one from VAG, if your van splines are the same as early MK2 scirocco's, that is.

You may get one aftermarket, but not sure. Much easier to do it your way round than trying to get the bu**er off! (like I did on the Scirocco!)

You may find one on ebay or other vw forums, it's quite a common requirement.

Good luck

here's the bit you want.

whether he'll post to england, you'lll need to ask buyer. i have found that they generally do...and i just post the cash in euros, it's not a lot of money

however, before you go any further..can you read the speedo properly with the golf wheel in place? i know i couldn'tm, but then i am tall.
you may also find trouble steering at low speed, unless you have power steering, but onl;y you know your strength
