Got some new bolts for my JX head, they are the tripple square type head.
I have a quality T55 (halfords pro, 1/2dr) bit that fits them well, question is will it be reliable as it only has splines for every other spline on the bolt head.
As the book says I have to torque them up to 55lb ft (in 3 stages), then do another 180° cold, folowed by another 90° after the engines been run up to temp, and then another 90° after 1000 miles - That sounds pritty dam tight so I want to make sure my tool will be able to handle that torque reliably.
If the T55 is not accepterble where can I get something that is? Can't find a "tripple square" bit anywhere so maybe i'm looking for the wrong name?

I may be mistaken, but by 'Triple Square' do you mean 'bi-hex' ?
If thats the case, don't worry, the standard Hex (6 sided) socket is a better bet anyway as this grips the wall of the bolt better than the Bi-hex type as is more suitable for higher torque applications. (less chance of rounding)
Can someone correct me if if I have the wrong end of the stick on this?

Had a quick look on the interweb and I think 'Torx' sockets (female) or bits (male) are what you mean. Something like the link below?
