New fuel tank, Grrrr....

Post by VWCamperfan »

Just got a new tank from JK, taken old one out, treated new one with underseal, hammered into place as it was about 3mm too long?? ang guess what...?
The filler hole is about quarter of an inch too low!
Now I know its a new tank with the smaller hole so I have got the new smaller filler neck etc. but why on earth has the new tank got its filler hole too low?
Basicly im stuffed! I even forgot to put the fuel sender connector back on just for the icing on the cake!
Dont think I will be able to get tank back down without a crowbar now either!
Is this normal for the hole to be lower or is it just my luck? :?
