non VW tech help required - SORTED NOW

Post by skeeb »

evening everyone!
nowt to do with VW's but could do with some help/advice.

I have a 1994 Rover 220 coupe and i got a problem with the central locking. I have recently disconnected the battery to re-charge it. After reconnecting the battery the central locking wont stay locked using the key fob or using the keys - the doors open again after about 2 seconds. I have read on some forums about re-programming the key fob but the fob actually works but the doors wont stay locked. I was wondering if anyone out there has had similar problems - not sure if its car specific or just a general fault with the central locking.

anyone got an owners manaul for this model car that they can look up this problem for me???
any suggestions would be appreciated.

cheers

Problem now sorted now - thank god. Fitted a new battery today cos i was having problem starting on cold mornings. When i re-connected the battery i re-programmed the fob to the ECU and it works fine now - both doors lock and stay locked !! Whey !! tried this re-programming thing a few days ago and it didn't work - strange.

thanks
