rear belts

Post by sidinio »

can i fit 3 point harnesses in rear rather than normal seat /lap belts ?
my ten year old will be using them and they seem safer
the seat will be full width r&r bed (cushions etc all securely fixed)
there are no mounting points at the mo (van conversion)
any thoughts !

Have a look at my garage photo here

http://archive.club8090.co.uk/garage.ph ... age_id=623

You can put the belt through the side card but it is a bit fiddly. Since mine is a Caravelle, the nuts were already welded to the internal strengthening panels but there is a way to do this without them ... JustKamper's kits are available for converting vans.

some more info on the garage too - 1989 Caravelle GL and here:

Hope this helps .. any more q's just PM me :D

Hi

Have recently fitted two proper belts to Bill as lap belts were no good for the kids. As i am lazy and haven't put everything back together yet you are welcome to come and look next time you are in Norwich. We had no fixing points either
