Fuel gauge and temp gauge now not working Help???

Post by winber55 »

Hi there, recently bought a T25 Kameo and gauges have been working fine. We fixed the water pump on it (with much help from this site!!) at the weekend. Took it out for a drive last night and noticed that neither the fuel gauge or the temp gauge is reading anything at all. Filled up with petrol and still nothing. Have read previous posts about dodgy fuel gauges but none seem to be the prob we have. Could it be something we did at weekend? Am guessing its not a prob in fuel tank cos temp not working either. Anything i can do to sort it out or is it new clock time?

Thanks in advance

check the earths in the engine bay, brown wires........

take the plug off the temp sender and join the two connections in the plug together, the gauge should go to the eversobloodyhot end.
if not, its a fault either in the wires, or the multiplug at the dash end, which you can wiggle by putting your hand up the dash above your right knee when sitting in the driving seat..........

Thanks for the tips guys. Had a good look today. Turned out that the black clip that the multiplug goes into was broken so it had jigged itself loose and thats why it wasnt working!! Done abit of a bodge on it with some cable ties and it works a treat now! Really glad it wasn't something horrid!

Thanks again, so glad i've found this site you are so helpful, hopefuuly i can return the favour when i know some more!!

Hi there

Just hop onto this topic if I may because I have a similar problem. The fuel gauge works but not the temp guage although the red light flashes when the ignition is turned on.

Things I have tried:

Diff instrument panel but temp gauge still doesn't work
Cleaned multiplug
Wired the two terminals on the wire that fits onto the temp sender but that doesn't have any effect and doesn't send the temp guage to hot

Does anyone have any other ideas

Thanks
