Oil leak

Post by kriss »

We drove our 1981 Devon T25 back from Staffs today, but when we stpooed at mway services, oil was dripping from the engine onto the exhaust. Not loads but enough to make a bit of a smoke. Can anyone tell me if this is a bad sign, and what to look out for :?

The guy we bought it from told me that it occasionally leaks a very small amount of oil, and that he has to 'top it up' on long runs. Its a 2.0L Aircooled engine. Seemed to pull very well, although i didn't take it over 60mph.

Much appreciated :D

I had a similar oil leak that drove me nuts.

Changed the oil cooler seals, oil seal behind the fan, push rod seals, when it finally turned out to be the oil pressure switch leaking from where the plastic joins the metal parts.

Five minutes later all done.
