2 litre Aircooled running problem

Post by Joda »

My 1982 T25 has developed an engine problem, the van was running OK until the engine lost power, it then surged forward, lost power, surged forward, then stopped completely. I called out the AA who checked and stripped part of the right hand carb, having identified this one with the problem. The spot repair seemed to work however the problem has returned.

Has anyone had a similar problem before? If so what was the cure?

Could the problem be sorted by

1. Having the carb cleaned & refurbished?

Or could the problem be something else?

Any assistance would be appreciated.
