Electric Mirrors - Wiring Diagram

Post by sportz »

Electric Wing Mirrors not working. No power on any of the terminals on the loom for the mirror inside the drivers side door or on any of the terminals on the control switch in the door. Fuse S12 OK.

Would be very grateful for suggestions and a copy of the Bentley wiring diagram for the mirrors if any of you kind people out there have such a thing.

Had a look based on diagram - now makes sense. Thanks very much. Also, got this for some more explanation:

http://www.gowesty.com/library_article.php?id=812

Problem seems to be that there is no power on the black and yellow wire at terminal 5 on the mirror controller switch. I traced the black and yellow wire back to the connector which is before the loom which goes from under the dash and into the door.

Unfortunately, the Yellow/Black wire which comes from the fuse box has been cut and connected to the yellow wire just before the connector. There is a yellow wire comes from the fuse box and this has been cut and connected to the Yellow/Black wire again just before the connector.

So looks like the Yellow/Black and Yellow wires have been swapped round just before the connector in order to solve some problem with presumably the yellow wire feed.

I have central locking and electric windows so looks like the black/yellow is being used for one of these two instead of what it should be doing. There is a yellow wire on the electric window switch which has 12V.

Suppose you have got the wiring diagrams and for the electric windows and the central locking have you? I'm just too tight to buy the bentley manual and prefer to sponge of others!

What a mess!!
