Timing marks on 1.6Td JX

Post by Macflai »

Well,

Firstly, I have read and been looking for a topic about this but nothing... I just need a picture or so of the timing marks on a JX engine... I have seen the mark on the injection pump pulley but nothing else... No more marks in the other pulleys? If I don't find them I will have to paint some marks on the pulley and belt to put it in the same order...

I need a picture or a good explanation... Anyone can help me, please?

Thanks in advance!

Ok, on the the front of the engine you will find two rubber snorkel /breather pipes, one goes to the gear box and one to the bellhousing where the flywheel/clutch are, remove the bellhousing snorkle pipe[it may have a cable tie on it],if you look into the hole [use a torch] you will see the flywheel/clutch,get a friend to turn the engine over [very slowly]and you will see the timing marks ^v^ the middle one is top dead center{tdc],post again when you have done this.
good luck.
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]

Well friends,

I have changed the timing belt, I used some marks I saw after cleaning a bit the pulleys and the background metal part... I was turning the crankshaft while looking first the injection pump pulley mark, when it was in front of the mark in the metal part I stopped and checked the back side of the camshaft (it is like a big - ) it was parallel to the head and finally I checked the mark where the clutch is. It was also on line it has something like a V ... To be sure I also marked with paint pulleys and the t belt, then I copied the marks on the new belt and installed again. Some tips I used: to stop the injection pump pulley I used a bolt what fix the oil dipstick and with 2 long bolts I stopped the crankshaft pulley... Now it is like this morning but a new timing kit is installed...
