A few questions with photos
Hello,
Just been looking at the engine, can anyone answer my questions as follows, still waiting for my hays manual!
My camper is a 1984 1.9 watercooled hightop, dont yet no the engine code as ive not found it!
[img:800:600]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/s ... ub1001.jpg[/img]
Can anyone identify this wire found loose in the engine compartment, it appears to run into the brick fuse box on the engine bulkhead. Is it anything to do with the red temp led (mine doesnot light up, however the gauge works fine).
[img:800:600]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/s ... ub1002.jpg[/img]
Can anyone id this wire, 3 pin plug. It runs to the top of the clutch/gear box housing, you can just see it on the image below.

Wire going into gearbox/clutch.
[IMG:800:600]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/s ... ub1005.jpg[/img]
Can anyone tell me what this valve does?
Ok thanks.

Thanks for that! Ready for oil change tomorrow and more digging around
Is there supposed to be a pipe connecting the zorst to the air inlet (before the airfilter?)

Yes. Any motor factors will have pipe suitable for that.
As for the TDC sensor plug, mine is P-clipped to to back of my altenator.. Looks better than chopping it off

Ive found a connecter at the bottom of the sump, which i take it is where it should be connected?
Another thing, cant get the sump plug out. Ordered a new one from just kampers, its massive, it would never fit into the sump plug hole (surround bit around it), maybe it would but i cant get the old one out, ordered the sump plug removal tool too - this does not fit - wrong fitting - it a bolt in my sump not an allen key type thing, the bolt in the sump is a 13mm. Badly rounded so i cant get at it with a socket.
Why are the bits i ordered different/wrong?
Maybe ill do it from the oil strainer, is this directly under the oil filter?
Haymanual still not turned up, getting mad now lol.

Hi
your engine code will, of course, be on your Registration Document. The code referred to above (ie: DG) is the first two letters of the engine number.
Failing that, its stamped on the engine block on the front face (as you view the engine from rear of van!) under your black cylindrical oil vent/breather thingy: see pic:-
