WHat rim are they? they wont go on without spacers/adapters.. as the ET is already high.. std rims are ET39 and clearance is already tight..
Centre bore.. dunno.. how big is it?

Are you sure they're from a Phaeton because Phaetons came with 17" alloys as standard but with 18" and 19" as factory options......16's on a big ship like a Phaeton....i don't think so. :?

yes there off a phaeton, they are 16 and there huge because the tyre wall are 60
wheel size is 7.5J 16
centre hole size is 57.1
tryed wheel on and the the centre of the alloy is a tiny bit to small but could get them re-drilled

Well i've never heard of /seen 16's on a Phaeton...Passat yes..but if you say they are 16's...hairy muff. :)

You'll need to machine the centre bore to 66mm maybe less as you'll also need 10mm spacers, longer rear studs and front bolts/stud conversion.

Ideal tyre size...225/55/16 with a high load rating....94 at the very least.

All parts except the machining and the tyres available from www.brickwerks.co.uk

Too wide??

I've got 8X17"" on the front of mine with an ET of 28 and 9X17"" on the rear with an ET of 25 and they fit nicely. :D
